Everybody's getting cozy in the new house. Everything is unpacked. My workshop and i are ready to move on to doing some more work around here. The kids only have two more weeks of daycare before I'm back on kid duty full time, so I'll have to try to make them count.
We have a big giant empty space in our living room... the area between the dining room and the wood stove... I have begun petitioning Julie that this space would be perfect...PERFECT!... for a full size pool table. I mean, come on, how often do you have the space for a pool table where you don't have to worry about bumping walls, etc, when you are playing. But just because we have "no money", she thinks this a sub-par idea. Go figure. But she hasn't turned me down on the basis of "it's a bad idea for our living room", so I'm going to start a "put a pool table in our living room" relief fund. This enterprise is going to take immediate precedent over the "back deck" and "pottery studio in the basement" funds. I polled Evie, and she thinks it's a great idea, but she also thinks that pool table is something she can go swimming in.

Pool cues. Plus blue chalk. Plus a beautiful new house. Throw in two young, spirited kids. What could go wrong? (And no, Julie didn't pay me to write this.)
