High up in the sky

We cut our fourth of July weekend short so that Joe and I could put in some extra QT on the house. We're getting close to having the whole structure weather-proofed. Not surprisingly, despite the monsoons of April, May and June, it has pretty much been dry and sunny since we got the roof on our house. Go figure.

We finished sheathing the house this week. The sun porch and the gable ends of the house were missing plywood still, and we polished that off. We also put "house-wrap" on the east end of the house, as well as the three windows on this side. The east side is pretty high up there. The tip of the roof comes in at somewhere around 30+'. And seems like fifty feet while you're working up there. So we spent some time setting up Joe's scaffolding, which unfortunately still didn't get us to every where that we needed to work. So we got creative, and got 'er done. Our methods weren't exactly OSHA approved, so I w
on't go into details. Anyway, this side of the house is done for a couple months until we put up the exterior rigid insulation and siding. Good ridance. Eric and I are going to spend the next few days finishing up the house-wrap and windows on the less scary sides of the house.
