Finished Roofing...

Eric and Joe are finishing up the last few hours of roofing today, just a few rows of shingles near the peak. Here's the front of the house with the shingles on. The small skylight on the left, over the sun porch goes to the master bedroom, while the big 4'x4' skylight on the right is over the big open area looking down to the dining room. That's Eric taking some pictures too.

Here's a picture of the master bedroom skylight. We still haven't put the plywood on the gable ends of the house. I took this as the sun was setting, and I thought the light coming through the end of the house was pretty neat. There would have been a good reflection of me too if the sticker wasn't on the skylight still.
I took this picture standing on the sun porch leaning out over the end of the house. It nicely shows that cedar trim boards that Joe installed a few weeks ago, the drip edge that was laid down before we shingled, and the brown shingles themselves.

The well drillers came back yesterday to install our pump and run the water line and electric wire from the well to the house. Joe excavated the ditch for the conduits, then filled it back in today. We have running water at our house now! Here's the well, and all the ground bedrock/muck behind it. It's hard to show how much sludge was produced by the drilling, but there was a 4'x4'x4' hole in the wet grey area on the right that was completely filled. The bails of hay were placed in front of our driveway culvert, and an incredible volume of the muck filled out behind them as well.
