latest on the lakefront

It has been a busy few weeks for me at the Lgislature, with the House Fish, Wildlife, and Water Quality Committee holding days of hearing on Act 43. In the end, the bill that was voted out of the committee (see related article in the Burlington Free Press) was just about as good as I could have asked for, providing a framework that supports much of what the we had proposed in our draft work plan at the end of this past summer (as well as taking up issues related to stormwater and compost that go well beyond my purview).

At the end of last week this same bill passed the House and is now on to the Senate for their consideration, and I am sure several more days of hearings...
