vermin

We have enjoyed an incredible week of unseasonable warmth and sun and the snow has just about melted away. One thing we did not anticipate was some of the "handiwork" that had been taking place under the snow. Our leachfield, in particular, is MUCH worse for the wear - apparently having served as some sort of apartment complex/amusement park for vermin.
A little reading on the Cooperative Extension Service website suggests that the turf should heal itself within a month's time. And we have unleashed a no-longer-little Chuck Norris (cat-version) on the unsuspecting field mouse population. He has yet to bring back anything, so it is hard to know if this is something those critters should be taking seriously or not... I, for one, hope that he is prepared to dine exclusively on rodents for the next few weeks (or months).
