kitchen
The kitchen is pretty much fully functional. The cabinets are in, our beautiful soapstone countertop is installed, which will turn to a very dark color once we treat it with mineral oil. Our sink is in, with running water, and our microwave, range, dishwasher and fridge are all up and running. Having the fridge upstairs is a treat in itself. It's a giant (very heavy) stainless steel sucker, weighing in at multiple hundreds of pounds. we couldn't use the hand truck to get it up the stone steps to the front door, so we tipped it on it's side and made a harness with it out of nylon straps and 2x4's, and carried it up the old fashioned way. Joe and I on one end, and Nate on the other.
By the way, we're officially moving in on Easter weekend, probably doing the bulk of the lifting on Friday and Saturday. If anyone is going to be in the area, or is willing to be in the area, we would love to have your help. This is the last time we'll ask, I promise!! If if you aren't strong enough to move the couches, we can use the help getting the new place cleaned up and ready to go. All the food and beer you can consume!
