bookcases

Dad, with able-bodied assistance (if I do say so myself) from Aaron and me, built the bookcases surrounding the "open to below" hole. The wide pine boards that make up the body of the bookcases came from a gnarly old pine tree that we had taken down in the front yard , rough sawn last summer, and planed last week. The back is made up of left -over tounge and groove planking from the second floor ceiling.

The kitchen appliances arrived today and good lord willin' and the crick don't rise (which is actually a real possibility these days ) the bath vanities and kitchen cabinets should be delivered tomorrow!
