Verizon sucks rocks.

It has been nearly five months now since we first contacted Verizon in, what we now know was, a feeble attempt to establish phone service at 100 High Meadow Lane. Our saga started simply enough - the technician who came to our house, back in August, indicated that there was an “engineering problem” at the pole that prevented him from completing the installation and that someone from Construction and Engineering Services would "follow up". True to the technician's word, someone from Construction called me the next week and I indicated the problem should be resolved on or before September 11th. Obviously that didn't work out...

Verizon has explained that the extensive delay is due to the fact that they simply do not have “capacity” to provide us with phone service. Apparently they are, and have been for at least the last five months, incapable of serving a single additional customer in our general vicinity.

But yesterday, at long last, I saw some FOUR Verizon trucks parked along Portal Road - I didn't actually observe anyone working, but they were there - which has to count for something! Dare we hope for phone service by the end of the week??? No, Verizon has already warned me that they will need to pull staff off our project to deal with any outages associated with the "weather" we are expecting over the next couple of days.

ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!
