framing of the second floor begins

In order for Dad to wrap-up work on the rough plumbing, we needed to get going on the second floor bathroom. Aaron and Eric spent some time Sunday and most of Monday framing, while Dad continued work on the piping needed to take all matters of dirty water from both baths to the septic system. This included the yeoman's task of carving out space in the foam insulation for the drain pipe.

Today we finished framing the "alcove" where the shower stall sits, and put down the subfloor. And tomorrow Dad plans to run the pipes needed to bring clean water to all of our future bathroom fixtures.

From my perspective, we can't have a working bathroom soon enough - today's high was just above freezing, and that is simply too cold for dropping trough to pee in the woods.
