More Updates on the way
Hey, Aaron here again. Sorry for the extended hiatus, though Julie's been doing a fine job in my abscence. It's been a very busy month on the house as we gear up for winter. There have been three major projects that underway as we push toward the season change. Randy Brown had been working part time to finish the chimney after school and on weekends (he's also the physics teacher at the local high school), Joe had been finishing getting the heating system functioning, and Joe, Eric and I have continued to pound away at the multi-month siding project.
I'm pleased to say that all three projects are well in hand. We've had the furnace running for about two weeks now (though the outside temps have been higher as well), the chimney has been finished for about a week and a half, and we finished up the siding this past Saturday. I personally nailed the last piece on the sun porch, which was also the smallest piece of siding on the entire structure (about 2" x 3"). Along with finishing the actual siding, we also got all the soffit installed, the house stained, all the joints between the siding and trim caulked, etc. There are just a couple hours worth of tiny outside jobs left to do, and we'll be inside working for the winter (minus cleaning up from snow storms).
Here are a couple pictures of the finished outside, with the site all picked up and everything. I've also got another dozen pictures sitting on my desktop, awaiting more updates in the following days. So keep an eye on this site, it should be pretty active this week. And Judy, I'm sorry it took me a couple extra days to get this post up. Things are busy around here with Julie away in Texas for 5 days!
