do you think Santa will be able to fit?

Our friendly neighborhood mason, Randy, and his assistant started work on the chimney in earnest on Saturday. It is currently about six feet tall, on its way to about 28 feet (that includes passing through the roof and extending a couple of feet beyond). The next step will be to punch a "thimble" through the wall, which will connect our woodstove to the chimney. Randy tells us that we should be able to burn wood before the end of the month! With temperatures forecast to dip into the 20s Thursday and Friday night, heat can't come soon enough.

While Randy was busy with the chimney, the rest of us have been moving full steam ahead on siding. More on that tomorrow....
