kickin down the cobblestones
I need to make a post on here about how much I absolutely adore my new job, but instead will give it the backseat for some more family news. A couple of weeks ago we downsized the community on the homestead to only four chickens, the other dozen being nicely packaged in the freezer (minus their wings, which were deliciously enjoyed last Thursday night). The four retained should start laying eggs soon, and are nicely settled into the new coop and pen we made for them out back. Sadly, our cats never appeared back at the house. But this being the woods and winter around the bend we thought that being cat-free wouldn't be the best bet for keeping out the mice. Coupled with the facts that kitties are in fact cute, and that the humane society is overbooked and is having a fire sale, and that Evie's birthday is this week, Julie and AJ ventured off to the adoption center yesterday.
Welcome Simon and Garfunkel! Two very cute 4 month old sibling boy cats, who are the newest additions to the home. They are great snugglers, and the kids have fallen in love. Julie WAS able to resist bringing home their other brother and sister, though hopefully they found a nice spot to live also.
