Labor on Labor Day weekend

A beautiful weekend in Vermont, and we took advantage to get some things done around the Homestead. Joe and Judy were here on Thursday and Friday, and coincidentally the Czar had these days off as well. The kids' daycare was closed, and Julie took advantage of having a nice store of vacation time to decompress after many weeks of extra hours getting her "Clean and Clear" work plan out. Julie and Joe took care of some odds and ends plumbing and electrical projects around the house, while Judy babysat, and I worked.

Several hours on Saturday and Sunday were devoted to (finally) getting the cable conduit buried through the yard to our house. Comcast left the conduit running over land a couple hundred feet b/c it was "too wet" for them to bury it when they laid it out. So instead of them burying it with a trenching machine, I buried the sucker myself, about 18" down in the ground. I realized as I was finishing that I had the perfect opportunity to run a drain pipe for the rain barrel in the same trench. AJ spent a lot of time "helping".
