Happy Birthday Julie!!

Yes, Julie's birthday was actually yesterday. Last evening we had celebratory Chinese food, followed by a lengthy 4-way game of racing cars across the hardwood floor, ending with a couple games of Blokus, which I beat Julie at despite it being her birthday.

The kids were very excited by the event. Evie spent the day telling people that her mom "turned 20", which I thought was very cute. Until I went to pick up Evie at daycare and she pronounced this in front of the mom of one of her friends, who I realized, after she reflected on what it was like to be 20, thought that Evie might be sincere rather than making up a random number. It wasn't as cute when I understood that people might misconstrue me as a creepy guy who had a child with a 16 year old. She was actually 29 and older than me at the time.

My mom and dad were in Town for the weekend. We all went out to dinner in Barre at Chris's restaurant on Saturday night (my dad's birthday). Mom took the kids home while Julie and the Moore boys stayed and hung out at the bar for a while. As the driver, who was also getting over being sick, I had to be pretty reserved. Julie, however, did not; as judged by the multiple Irish Car Bombs consumed by herself and my dad. Apparently she thought she was turning 20 also.

While I can't get on board with the name of that drink combo (spending two weeks with a Dubliner will do that to you) I am very proud of Julie for having a Buffalo-esque evening.
