A couple random thoughts from the weekend:

-Saturday was our 5th wedding anniversary. I am very glad that Julie has continued to put up with me for these last 5 years. It's hard not to be unbelievably thankful for our life up here. I have a fabulous new home, a wonderful and patient wife who is coincidentally a fantastic mother, and two absolutely beautiful, fun children. Hopefully she'll keep me around for at least another five.

-I am a yankee fan, and my love for me team hasn't, and won't, waver through some tough times this season. But the standings on the right claim that we're down 12.5 games... it's time to face reality and not be a delusional fan. We're not in the same league (so to speak) as Boston this year, and while I do honestly believe that we are far better than the other teams in the AL East, I think we're probably not as good as the 4th best team in the AL Central. I think I'm going to have to find something else to do in October this year.

Here are a couple more pictures from our hike on Friday. The 1/2 mile of trail just below the tree line still had about a foot of wet snow and ice on it. It was a little hairy hiking it with AJ on the back:

The Yankees are an evil empire. Darth Vader should be their skipper. You heard me.
