A few of us escaped our busy house on Christmas day for a nice hike in Hubbard Park in Montpelier. Another one of those characteristically warm days this winter.
We did get out first "big storm" this weekend. On Thursday they were predicting up to 12" of snow, with additional ice. We ended up getting about 3". It was just the right amount of snow for Daddy's Little Helper (Evie) to help me shovel up. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't convey just how excited she was to be out there helping. We took the day off from working on the house Monday, likely the first day that all four of us have spent together (that hasn't involved a big trip to a building supply store) since April. When Julie told Evie that we were all staying home, she specifically requested that we not make a trip to the Home Depot.
