Julie's been doing a lost more fun stuff than I have over the last week, so I handed the reigns over to her for a while. Now that her funs over, I'd thought I'd check back in.

The kids went to Maine for a four day weekend last week. I have not only joined the working world, but have a acquired a job in which I'm given no paid vacation. Things being what things are right now, I decided to stay home and put the time in at my cubicle. As a bonus, I had a nice quiet weekend at the house, which was nice, though no where near as nice as being at the ocean. Next time.

This weekend we all spent here in VT. We had dinner with Christian on Friday. He had the day off, and said he'd be there by 5:30 or so. What he didn't mention is that he was planning on walking the 30 miles from Richmond to Middlesex with his dog Ted. Julie picked him up about 20+ miles into the trip on her way home from work.

Yesterday we also got most of the last or our soon-to-be lawn ready to grow. We shoveled, hauled, and raked the rest of our dump-truck load of topsoil. It was a big, big day of work, with the kids alternating between "helping" (i.e. getting the way) and playing on the swings. We celebrated our accomplishment by going to watch Julie play soccer (she's very tough) and have a picnic. The game ended in a 2-2 tie after two overtimes. I'm not sure any sport that allows games to be finished in a tie is perfectly fulfilling, but we had a wicked fun time, nonetheless.
