I took the kids down to Greenwich and Salem, and we enjoyed some great 4th of July festivities at the home of their Great Grandparents. On the drive home I passed the time trying to count how many people were at the shindig, and came up with a minimum of 38. It was a lot at any rate. Ranging from 2 weeks old to some age that the oldest person wouldn’t want me to share on the internet anyway.
I also, of course, forgot to take the camera. I did, however, score several heads of fresh garlic from grandpa’s garden, and they are delicious. We’re headed down this evening to spend the weekend with Joe and Judy.
The job is going well. I’ve finished up my first two weeks, which means I’m going to get my first paycheck at some point. Yay. I’m starting to get busy, which makes me feel better about the work. I’m office bound, and I mainly am helping review development permits in floodplain areas, reviewing town ordinances for development in the floodplains, helping field questions from local officials and landowners, etc. It ties loosely into the work I did in grad school, inasmuch as it’s related to land use and rivers, but this is a lot of policy stuff, and a long way from biology. But it’s a start.
